This peace message spread throughout Japan and then was introduced in the United States in 1986 during the first World Peace Prayer Ceremony, which was in conjunction with the United Nations International Year of Peace. Mr. Goi founded The World Peace Prayer Society, now known as May Peace Prevail On Earth International, the home of the Peace Pole Project, also in 1986. Its headquarters are located in Wassaic, New York.
