Peace Poles are found today in every nation on earth. They are inscribed in many languages with the words: May Peace Prevail On Earth. This description appears on the May Peace Prevail on Earth International website, www.worldpeace.org: “The power of the Message, May Peace Prevail on Earth, lies in its capacity to bring people of various cultures, faith traditions and political ideals together as one united global heart and mind. May Peace Prevail On Earth, allows us to sincerely focus on our mutual desire to serve, create and manifest true peace on earth while transcending our differences and celebrating our common humanity.”
Masahisa Goi, Japanese poet, philosopher, and visionary received these inspiring words, May Peace Prevail On Earth, during prayer in the 1950’s. This peace message spread throughout Japan and then was introduced in the United States in 1986 during the first World Peace Prayer Ceremony, which was in conjunction with the United Nations International Year of Peace. Mr. Goi founded The World Peace Prayer Society, now known as May Peace Prevail On Earth International, the home of the Peace Pole Project, also in 1986. Its headquarters are located in Wassaic, New York.
